Indulge your Creative Side: Be an Art Docent!

Being an Art Docent is such a fun way to be in the classroom and get creative! Don't worry if you are not an art expert, training materials and ideas are available. We would like to have more than one docent per teacher! So if you feel that you have a few hours a month to teach art in your child's class, please email our Art Docent Chair today.

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition.

The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Young artists get involved in their local PTA or PTSA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted.

The six art areas are:
  • Visual Arts Photography
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production.

Spelling Bee

Picture
Are you a great speller?  Do you want to improve your spelling skills?  Do you like a challenge?  Are you in grades third, fourth, or fifth?  Then the Crystal Springs PTA Spelling Bee is for you! Word lists are available from your student's teacher.

We are excited that we are going to have each classroom do a spelling bee. The winner from each classroom will then go on to the school spelling bee that will take place on February 4th during the school day. Letters will be coming home to let you know when your child will participate in the class spelling bee in January.

Staff Appreciation

Picture
Our Teachers and Staff at Crystal Springs are amazing! We like to find ways to show our appreciation for them throughout the school year. Teacher & Staff  Appreciation Week is celebrated during the first full week of May each year.

In 2020, it’s May 4-8. National Teacher Day falls on the Tuesday of Teacher Appreciation Week—May 5, 2020.
Teacher and Staff Likes Lists
Thank you so much for taking the time to think of our Teachers and Staff in some way!

We often have staff appreciation signup sheets that will go out via email and social media.

If you would like to volunteer to bring some items into their staff room throughout the year, it’s much appreciated!

Do you want to know what our teachers and staff love here at Crystal Springs? We have a handy ‘Staff Likes’ Binder located in the main office across from the Nurse’s office or see the full list online.
